 The Jewish Community Alliance is committed to strengthening its Jewish involvement in the
community. The JCA seeks to create a positive and affirming environment of Jewish culture and heritage. This is
accomplished through various and sundry programs for Jews of all ages - from babies to senior adults.
The JCA is the first stop for most Jewish newcomers to Jacksonville. To meet this
need, the Newcomers Club was created in conjunction with the Federation.
The JCA's Cultural Arts Department provides many Jewish cultural experiences.
Highlighting the year is the Jewish Book Festival. The Vandroff Gallery provides a showcase for a wide variety
of Jewish art. The JCA's auditorium is the venue for films with Jewish themes and music by Israeli performers.
The Holocaust memorial service rotates among the synagogues. However, the JCA
plays an important role through facilitating Holocaust education though speakers and the Youth Services Theatre
Department's productions.
The JCA provides social activities for families and adults centered around the
Jewish holidays. The Adult Services Department provides a wide variety of social and intellectual opportunities.
Machon Aviv Spring Institute is a day of seminars on topics of Jewish interest, which shows the JCA's dedication
to creating exciting activities for our senior members.
The JCA's Team Jacksonville participates in the Maccabi Games each year with over
2,000 other Jewish teens from around the country.
The JCA's Gan Yeladim preschool and kindergarten is NAEYC accredited. Emphasis
is placed on Judaic education.
Health and welfare continues to be a top priority at the JCA. The JCA's Health
and Fitness Department serves Jews of all ages. It is not only a great place to get healthy, but a wonderful, informal
atmosphere to socialize with friends and family.
The JCA is a wonderful and important part of Jacksonville's Jewish community.
It is the welcoming first stop for the new Jewish family in town. If that family becomes affiliated with a synagogue,
then the JCA becomes an important enhancement to their Jewish life experiences. If the Jewish family does not affiliate
with a synagogue, then the JCA becomes an important connection to their Jewish heritage. The JCA is home for every
Jew!
