Jewish Family & Community Services is pleased to have this opportunity to publicly
acknowledge its ongoing support of the Jacksonville Jewish Foundation. The Foundation is the product of a vision
to secure the futures of Jacksonville's Jewish organizations, a vision that embraces those generations to come
and prepares to provide the services that will meet their needs.
The JFCS board has put an emphasis on the importance of endowed funds by structuring
opportunities to build the endowment. Through its expertise and hard work, the Foundation has catapulted this initiative
forward by identifying and negotiating a very important gift to endow children's services at the agency. This gift
came from an individual who had no prior giving history with JFCS, and the agency's board and staff are convinced
that the donation would not have come to fruition if not for the tireless efforts of Mel Gottlieb, Past President
and Elliott Horovitz, Past Director of the Foundation.
In addition to promoting the well being of each organization under the umbrella
of the Jewish Federation, the Foundation serves to knit the agencies and synagogues together, strengthening the
Jewish community as a whole. The community spirit generated through the Foundation's efforts is a powerful force
and will only grow in momentum over time.
JFCS is both grateful and proud to be a beneficiary of the Foundation's good works
and looks forward to a long and positive relationship for generations to come.
