From the Jacksonville Jewish Foundation

CLOCK IS TICKING ON YEAR END GIVING

If you plan to send a check or gift appreciated stock this year to the Jacksonville Jewish Foundation, we encourage you to do it this week.
If you are sending a check, the Internal Revenue Service requires that the envelope with your check be postmarked on or before Dec. 31, 2007, to obtain a 2007 charitable deduction.

If you are gifting stock, the stock must actually be in the Foundation's account by Dec. 31 for you to receive a 2007 deduction. Therefore, we recommend that all stock transfers be initiated on or before Dec. 21, 2007, to ensure that they are completed in time. Even if you have written a letter to your broker, the IRS will consider it to be a 2008 gift, not 2007, if the gift is not in our account by Dec. 31.

To facilitate a contribution to the Foundation contact Paulette Keifer at (904) 394-0720 pkjjf@jacksonvillejewishfoundation.org or Jean Brantley at sjbjjf@jacksonvillejewishfoundation.org

We thank you for your support and ask you to adhere to the above to ensure that your donation is processed in a timely and accurate way.
